What should i do to this guy ;?

i became friends with a guy who was my ex classfellow..... once i insulted him coz ov something that was not his fault , as soon as i realized he was not at fault i apologized .... initialliiii that guy used to call me himself , after i insulted him i started texting and calling him myself .... one day he said he wants to talk about something ... i asked him to continue ... he replied " this little interaction of ours is getting dangerous( as our mutual friend dont like wen we are together and they hav dun some mean stuff) and this little interaction of ours may lead to attachments and it may not b fruitful for both of us ( i never took him as a guy but had always told him he is a brotherly friend), so may you have all the best in your life" i replied him that i respect his decision ... but now i feel inclined towards him nd am missing him nd want to talk to him,,,, what should i do...
